About this role

The Head of NSW will lead JCN’s Sydney branch into its next phase of growth, driving state-based strategy, partnerships, and projects while aligning with JCN’s national mission. This role will serve as a key public representative of the organisation in the NSW Jewish community, building relationships, leading campaigns, and growing community engagement.

Reports to: CEO

Term: 2-year contract

Location: Sydney based (hybrid)

Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience.

Roles & responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic development of JCN NSW

  • Manage staff, volunteers and partnerships

  • Drive campaigns, projects and fundraising initiatives

  • Build relationships across the Jewish community

  • Represent JCN in media and political engagement

  • Leadership and project-building experience

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Understanding of Jewish community structures

The Head of Government Relations will lead JCN’s political engagement strategy, building relationships across government and ensuring the organisation plays an effective role in advancing ambitious climate and energy policies. This role is suited to someone with strong political experience and a passion for bipartisan climate solutions.

Term: 12-month contract

Location: Melbourne, Sydney or Canberra (hybrid)

Roles & responsibilities

  • Lead government engagement strategy

  • Build networks with politicians and policy influencers

  • Prepare briefing materials and policy summaries

  • Coordinate engagement across JCN programs

  • Identify strategic policy opportunities

Core competencies

The successful candidate will:

  • Experience working in politics or government

  • Strong relationship management skills

  • Understanding of policy development processes

  • Ability to communicate complex policy clearly

About this role

The Research & Policy Coordinator will support JCN’s political engagement and public communications work. This role plays an important part in enabling JCN to provide pragmatic climate policy ideas that accelerate Australia’s climate leadership while equipping the Australian Jewish community with evidence-based climate solutions to champion.

You will track policy developments across Federal, State and local levels, prepare policy briefs and research summaries, and support stakeholder engagement across government, community and organisational partners.

Research & Policy Coordinator

Reports to: CEO and senior staff.

Term: Casual or part-time contract.

Location: Australia-wide (Hybrid or Remote).

Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience.

Roles & responsibilities

  • Monitor climate policy developments across government

  • Map key political and community stakeholders

  • Prepare policy briefs and research summaries

  • Support stakeholder meetings and follow-up actions

  • Assist public communication of evidence-based policy solutions

Core competencies

The successful candidate will:

  • Experience in policy research or analysis

  • Strong written communication skills

  • Understanding of climate policy issues

  • Organised, independent and collaborative working style
