A retreat for Jewish Australians who work in climate.
Lighthouse is JCN's flagship retreat, bringing together a select group of Jewish Australians for an immersive weekend of learning, connection, and action on climate.
Held at the beautiful Cleveland Estate in the Macedon Ranges of Victoria, participants engage with leading experts, deepen their understanding of climate and energy, and connect with a community of people who share their values and drive.
What does the retreat involve?
Participants at Lighthouse can expect to:
Engage with leading experts across political advocacy, philanthropy, investment, technology and public policy
Deepen their understanding of the politics behind climate and energy debates
Hone their communication strategies around climate and the environment
Identify pathways to apply their existing skills and networks for real climate impact
Previous Retreats
Lighthouse has run for two consecutive years, with cohorts in 2025 and 2026. Each year, a carefully selected group of community members has come together from Sydney, Melbourne, Northern Rivers, Canberra, Queensland and New Zealand. Participants have worked in fields such as science, public policy, finance, agriculture, the arts and more, and have engaged with nation-leading experts in these fields and beyond. Together in a uniquely Jewish and climate-focused space, they learn, connect, and leave with the tools, relationships, and inspiration to take meaningful action.
“We need a Jewish response to climate change because there’s no better way to connect and engage people who may otherwise not have been engaged in this important issue. I know personally I doubt I would have been here if not for the Jewish Climate Network being a Jewish Climate Network.”
- Jacqui, Lighthouse 2025 Participant
“One thing I took away from this weekend is that it’s really important for Jewish communities and leaders in the Jewish community to define spaces that address the environment, our relationship with climate change and with each other”.
- Naama, Lighthouse 2025 Participant
“It’s a professionally run, incredibly thought-provoking and safe space which provides amazing networking.”
- Koby, Lighthouse 2026 Alum
“Lighthouse creates an open, supportive and collaborative environment for Jewish people involved in the environmental space to come together. We need more initiatives that ensure the climate movement is strong, diverse and welcoming to all.”
- Rebecca Huntley, Expert Guest Speaker, Lighthouse 2026
